What’s on my iPad - Productivity, Reference, Search

Part 8 - Wow - I’m not even covering all 106 apps. I’m surprising myself at how many apps I have.

Productivity/Reference/Search

Productivity

Productivity

  • TextExpander - honorable mention. I keep meaning to use this app, but don’t. I use TE on all my Macs. It saves snippets of text I retype all the time. It would work well on my iPad, particularly in email, you send directly from TE - but I keep forgetting to use it. Hopefully this post will remind me.
  • GoDocs - I live in Google Docs. This makes all my Docs available for reading, editing or sharing. A must have if you use Google Docs.

Reference

Reference

  • Wolfram - as in Wolfram Alpha, a scientifically oriented search engine. Actually it’s more than science and math, it also cover geography, history and lots of facts. Great to have when you are out at dinner arguing about the size of Mercury or the size of the Great Salt Lake.
  • Articles - Wikipedia on your iPad. Same as Wolfram, great for settling arguments:)

Search

Search

  • Zillow/Trulia - if you are in the real estate market, or just want to get depressed at how far housing prices have dropped, these are great apps. Both use Location Services, so they easily answer the question, “I wonder how much that house is?”

Next up - Shopping and Social Networking (Post 7 - Photo/Video)
