What’s on my iPad - Travel and Utilities
Part 10 - Travel and Utilities
Travel

Travel (If you hate travel…)
- Tripit - Core travel app. My husband and I both use the Pro version of the web app. You simply forward any travel confirm (flight, hotel, limo, rental car, etc.) to Tripit and magically it creates an itinerary. Everything is in order, with confirms, simple to read, accessible from anywhere and shareable. In addition - Tripit has saved us $1000.00 of dollars. That’s right - thousands. They monitor your trip and the price you paid and text you the minute a lower price is available. We’ve collected many, many refunds. Also as your flight approaches you are texted the gate, any delays, and/or updates. I usually know BEFORE the gate agent when there is a delay or change. Lastly, they link you to alternative flights in the case of delay. There is more - but GET THIS APP if you hate to travel.
- FlightTrack - this works with or without Tripit. FlightTrack grabs your flight from Tripit and then gives in depth information on flight location, gate information, terminal maps and more. What i use it for, is tracking my husbands flights from his Tripit account. I know if he is delayed or when he lands.
- FlightBoard - works with FlightTrack or as a stand alone. Gives you the actual Flight Board from the airport. I have found it 100% reliable. It’s an added assurance when you are traveling and you can’t find a Flight Board.
- PackitPro - custom design or use off the shelf packing lists. Did I tell you I hate to travel? Well I hate packing more! This helps make a stress filled job, a simple matter of a checklist. Highly recommend if you hate to travel:)
Utilities

Utilities
- FileApp Pro - open and organize almost any type of file anyone sends you. Word, Powerpoint, PDF’s, audio, video, etc. If you get a lot of files by email, this is a helpful app to have when you don’t have your laptop
- Dropbox - Keep every file you need in Dropbox on your computer(s) and then be able to access from your iPad. Rightfully, this app is very popular.
- GoodReader - Similar to FileAppPro. Both apps have their pluses and minuses. I like GoodReader because it plays nice with MobileMe and Dropbox. Also it is easy to send web pages or downloads to GoodReader. Check both apps out and decide for yourself.
Next up - Weather and Work - Last in the series!!!! (previous Post 9 - Shopping and Social Networking)
